I know I have a ton of stuff to blog about right now, but honestly, I'm just feeling too lazy to even upload pics from the camera--and there's a lot! So I'm going to blog about something that doesn't require pictures. I recently found out about this site from my childhood friend Jeremy's wife's blog. It's called E-Mealz, and basically you pay $5 a month and you sign up for whichever meal plan you want (there's a lot to choose from, and they even have plans for specific stores, like Kroger or Wal-Mart). Every week they post a meal plan for you, complete with a shopping list of things you need to buy for each meal. For example, since the plan I chose was the 7-day family meal plan (serves 4-6) for Kroger, every week I can download my meal plan and shopping list for Kroger. So far, it seems like most of the meals are stuff that we will actually eat. And if there's something that we're not interested in, the meals are made to feed 4-6 people, so we should have leftovers for a night when we don't like whatever meal is on the plan. The recipes they give you don't require a whole lot of "weird" stuff either. It's stuff that you may already have in your kitchen.
Now, if your family is anything like ours, you don't plan ahead for dinners. So when we realize we don't have anything to eat or just can't think of anything to make, we just order out, or get fast food, which I HATE doing. And it ends up costing a lot more. I just signed up for this the other day, so I'm still learning about it and figuring out if it's going to work for us. I wanted to wait until after the holidays--which by the way, for weeks that include a holiday like Christmas or Thanksgiving, they give you shortened meal plans (like for 4 days instead of 7) since you're usually eating with extended family and also have leftovers from that. Anyway, I'll stop my little commercial and let you decide for yourself if it would be worth $5 a month (they bill you $15 every 3 months). I think it's going to save us a lot of money! And since we are now living on one income, I am always looking for ways to save money! Anyway, if you're interested, click on the banner below. I also put a link to it on the margin of my blog so that after I catch up with my blogging about the holidays and this post is long gone from the top of my blog, you can still find the link!
